“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, My God in Him I will trust.’” Ps. 91:1-2
The secret place of God, living under His shadow, is available to us. Isn’t that amazing? This verse refers to both the presence and the protection of God. To live here, to abide here, we must continually set our minds on God. If you’re anything like me, you are always meditating on something. I can meditate on my problems, my frustrations, my mistakes and failures, the things that irritate me, or things that make me angry or scared. If I’m not careful, I can find myself meditating on me! Yikes!!
Or, instead I can choose to meditate on the promises of God and sit under His shadow. Consider these promises - “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.” Ps. 145:18. “For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.” Ps. 90:11
To live in the secret place of the Most High – meditate on God’s promises, not life’s problems.
