There’s something about our American culture that wants to be appreciated. We want people to notice us, notice when we do something good or kind.

But God. The God of hope. With God, there is always hope.

Discouragement says, “I have a distaste for my present, a disgust for my past, and a distrust for my future.”

The secret place of God, living under His shadow, is available to us. Isn’t that amazing?

It is natural for many of us to focus on the negative

In our culture there seems to be a rise in the desire to cast blame on others. No one wants to take responsibility for the different crisis’ affecting our nation.

I have hope in tomorrow because God will be there with me. So many people today lose hope. But God says that He is the God of hope. He wants me to abound in hope.

We have the hope of heaven. Scripture describes heaven as a paradise where there are no more tears, no more sorrow, and no more pain.

When things don’t go the way we planned, when people disappoint us and hurt us, when God seems distant, it is easy to get discouraged.

No matter who is elected president, no matter what happens with the Senate and House, God is still on the throne. God is King

Think about your children. Wouldn’t you do most anything to help your child in life?

Discouragement can set in like wet fog.

Isolation may keep our bodies safe but it doesn’t do anything good for our souls.

Spiritual rain heals. It brings refreshment and hope.

When my kids grow up, I want them to like me and want to spend time with me. I want to be their friend. But….

Just a little sleep, just a little slumber, just a little folding of the hands… and poverty will pounce on you like a bandit.

One of the lessons that I am slowly learning in life is that I can be right or I can be happy. Right or happy? Sometimes, you have to choose between the two.

Since most students did not return to school after spring break, many seniors did not get to say goodbye to their friends or their teachers. Right-of-passage events have been cancelled or indefinitely postponed. It feels cruel and unfair.

I think if all of us had a fresh revelation of how powerful prayer really is, we would devote a lot more time to it.

A number of years ago, I went to the top of the Empire State Building. Although I am afraid of heights, the huge rod iron rod fence that surrounded the Observation Deck made me feel safe.
